I'm using Finale 2014.5 on a Mac running 10.11.6.  When I try and do a first and second ending the repeat shows in all parts but in the bottom parts of each section (I'm using Jazz Band Templet) I only get the little boxed for handles. I don't get the actual first and second ending. Yes I have checked show in all parts. I have tried extracting the part and I still can't get the endings to show even if I delete the ending in the extracted part and try and put a new one in. Help!

I just answered my question. If you pick the bar you want repeat and you use menu rather than tool you can get a first and second ending in every part. Seems like it should also work with the repeat tool also. Must be some sort of programming glitch.

Exact same problem on a jazz band score - only the handles show on staves below the top except neither the right click or menu work.  I have "show on all staves" checked.    Finale 25, Win10.

Had same problem on 2014.5 but sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

It appears that you must enable endings to show on all staves in several places and edit each piece of the repeat endings separately to show. There also seems to be a problem getting to show endings on instruments in the same group.

Clearly there is a problem allowing users the flexibility to show endings on every staff regardless of group assignment. For a program that claims extensive flexibility, this is a shortcoming.

J Adrian - thanks for that suggestion. I'll try it the next time if it fails to work.    Today I opened the same score, did work on it, then noticed the endings are now showing. I didn't think to check when I first opened it.   I went down further in the score and created an ending with right click/show on all staves and it worked fine.  It's a puzzlement.

Finale 2014d on PcXPsp3.

Same problem. Jadrian's (Mac?) statement applies exactly to me. Although DocumentOptions>Repeats>ShowOn>AllStaves was selected, the score (showing endings on Sop, not on A,T,B.) was then saved and reloaded, the problem remained.

It was only when I Right clicked on the handle of the 1st ending>EditEnding>ShowOn>AllStaves>OK, that the 1st ending appeared on all staves. I then had to repeat the editing action for the 2nd ending to show the 2nd ending on all staves.

I have the same problem as Michael had, but none of the suggested fixes work, perhaps because I'm still using 2012c on an XP computer with no internet connection. The piece is for string orchestra (V1, V2, Vla,, VC, CB). The score is fine, with repeat barlines, but in extracted parts brackets and numbers only in the V1 part, just handle boxes in the rest. Unfortunately upgrading (either Finale or OS) is not an option at this time. It may mean redoing the score by eliminating the 1st/2nd endings altogether and just copying the measures in for the repeats. Fortunately they're short.
