Hello, 

I'm running on a Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, and I am using Finale Print Music 2014.5. I am having constant issues with my playback. My percussion instruments sound like a piano, even if I have it set on a standard drum kit. Also, my ties do not sustain. What can I do to fix these issues?

Hi Nicholas

 

Can you post a screenshot of your score manager/instrument list?

(Window->Score Manager or <command>K and click the Instrument List tab.)

 

However, just off of the top of my head I suggest that the channel setting is at fault. Percussion should be set to channel 10 if you're using MIDI playback.

Also make sure that "Notation style" is set to "Percussion" and an appropriate percussion map is selected.
