I'm writing exercises for my band and wanted to know if there is a way to have text boxes I put on the score appear on every part.  I've been using Finale for years and I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking or forgetting.  Thank you

Hi

From what I can see, text boxes appear in parts by default. Is this not happening for you?

If it's not, can you describe what it is that you're doing when you create/insert a text box and/or attach a score?

Cheers...

If you're using the Text Tool to enter text related to the music, you might want to switch to the Expression Tool. That way, text related to the music stays put and appears in each part.

Text Tool text is only for page related text - title, instrument label, composer, copyright. Expressions are for music text.

As mentioned already, text boxes attached to the page should appear in all the parts.  However, text boxes can also be attached to staff/measure... (right-click and select edit frame attributes)  Agree that Expressions are preferable most of the time...

The expression tool works better.

However, one reason why you text box may not appear on all the parts, is that you have to link it or copy it to EVERY instrument and staff - it won't automatically do that. That is why the expression is better - you can make your text and assign it to every stave.
