It is done in the dialog box Fretboard Instrument Definition.

If the chords play an octave too high, just create a fretboard which is tuned an octave lower.

Thanks for your comment. I've lowered the fretboard 1 and then 2 octaves... the fretboard plays the appropriate pitch when playing the test button "Play All' in the Fretboard Instrument Definition menu, however the "enable chord playback" at the bottom of the dropdown chord menu condtdinues to play the same too high octave regardless of the changes made in the FID menu. ???
