Hello,

Finale 2014 was crashing in El Capitan (Mac Os 10), mainly from the use of VST instruments but then also when selecting note heads.

It was time to upgrade anyway so I purchased the upgrade to Finale v25. However, when I ran the package installer, I don't see the new Finale anywhere and the (crashy) version of Finale 2014 is still there.

Do I need to uninstall Finale and Garritan (I have the jazz pack) and do a clean install? Anyone else experiencing this?

Both should be in your Applications folder. The icons are nearly identical.

I found that on the Mac the two versions of the program do not play well together as far as finding them. The F2014 icon is the only one that appears behind the Rocket (Applications) icon. I finally deleted the F2014 program on my Mac, at which point the F v25 icon appeared.

But I usually use my Windows 7 machine for (various versions of) Finale, so the sacrifice was not a burden.
