Today I went to open my Finale 2012 for Mac and got a message saying I need to download the latest version of Java. I've downloaded the newest version of Java and when I try to open Finale I still get the same message, that I need to download Java. There are no instructions on how to install Java once I've downloaded it, so I don't know if its automatically installed or not.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

The message is wrong. You need the 32bit Java 6 run time from Apple. When Oracle bought SUN, Apple lost the ability to include it in current builds of the OS. The 64bit JRE you get from Oracle does not support 32bit applications like Finale 2014.5 and earlier.

This will fix you up.

Finale 25 does not make calls to Java.
