Using Mac OS 14.4.1, Finale 27.4.4.146

I'm not sure exactly when this happened--had to have been within the last month as I just used finale about 2 weeks ago for a transcriptions--but ties are absolutely broken now.

I saw a note the latest versions notes saying that issue was 'fixed' with ties over staff, lines, and I'll admit that there is less issue with that (though, it was more of a visual issue rather then the encoding as even when ties over staff lines didn't look perfect while editing, they exported just fine).

The option to edit ties using handles easily has been removed. There are only 3 handles now, one on each end of the tie and one for the height of the tie. Before, each handle would edit the tie locally on the individual tie, now when you drag either end of the tie handle, it only adjusts width of that end of the tie, not height. YOU DRAG THE ENTIRE HEIGHT OF THE TIE FROM ONE END. You have to go in and MANUALLY edit the tie heights in units of measurement.

You can also no longer double click to add a tie and edit the tie from simple entry. You can only single click and hope your tie looks good. Now, you need to go in the nested menu within Special Tool Entry and adjust using the further nested Tie tool in order to get your ties looking nice.

Welcome to the forum!

I am on Mac OS 12.7.4 (= Monterey).

For me, ties work as usual.

You are talking about the Special Tools Tool sub-tool Tie Tool - right?

I select the middle handle, and hit Return. Then I have 4 handles.

If I understand you correctly, you are talking about the Simple Entry Tool’s sub-tool Tie Tool - right?

When did the Simple Entry Tool have that feature? - in v26?

I do not see that feature in v26.

For me, a tie is added with a single click on the notehead.

Another click removes the tie again.

This is in v26 and v27.

Also, the Simple Entry keyboard shortcuts T (= tie to next note) and Shift-T (= tie to previous note) work as usual.
