I have Finale 2010b

 My computer is an HP

Running Windows 7 Home Premium

Anyone who could please help me with a problematic issue?

I have not been able to use hyperscribe with my electronic keyboard that has a midi connection to my computer for quite some time.  I used to be able to do it with the same keyboard and hookup.  Yesterday got it to work but the next time and every time after that it did not.  Using a default document, my mouse will get the click going and I can hear my keyboard playing through, but no notes will appear.

 My settings have been:

-set to “record continuous data” in the hyperscribe menu

    - “none” for the Human Playback Styles in Playback settings.

-“none(record Immediately) for the Start Signal for Recording in the Playback and/or Click Box.

-in the Device setup/Audio Setup the mic source is USB Audio CODEC and in the Output it is the same.  Also the setting is play through the hardware.

-in the Device Setup/Midi through is set to “smart”

   - in the Click and Countoff box, I have selected “always” in the countoff box, “while recording” in the Click box, and “MIDI note in the Source Box.

I don’t know what I have failed to do to get the hyperscribe to work.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.

 Thank You,

Mike Grammatico

Is your MIDI keyboard plugged into your computer constantly, or do you plug it in only when you plan to use it?

I plug in my keyboard only when I plan on using it.

All I can think of was to check your MIDI plugs to make sure the MIDI Out on the Keyboard is plugged into the MIDI In of your computer interface. Of course, if your MIDI keyboard connects via USB, this would be moot.
