An issue that I have only seen so far coming up with strings. In a certain measure, the lower three strings will drop down to barely audible, while the first violin stays right where it was. The key velocities are all uniform, and the faders in the mixer are the same. In fact, even if I put the faders all the way up, I still can't get the level up. They start off fine, and then every time through the drop out in m.14. Have I done something I'm not aware of to have that happen?

Don't know what method you used to enter your music into Finale, but you might try clearing MIDI data by selecting your entire piece (I suggest you do this on a copy of your file for safety sake) and using Edit > Clear Selected Items

This fix didn't help with my string problem, and I'm having a similar issue again with an accordion. It is blazingly loud. It doesn't respond to the fader, nor to me zeroing out the volume in the instrument list. I have reassigned the instruments, since this is an old arrangement, and I wanted to update to Garritan instruments. I can't think where else this information could be coming from. If I switch back to the softsynth sounds, the mixer functions normally. Then when I come back to Garritan, the problem returns. I'm not sure if it  is relevant, but this has only happened in old pieces made with old versions of Finale.

I have had a silimlar problem in the past and am currently gettingit with 2014.5.  A saxophone part drops out for a few bars.  I have tried clearing MIDI data, but that does not work.  I noticed the problem almost straight away, so I re-entered the notes and the volume was correct again.  Then I deleted the bars with the faulty play-back and the problem returned.  It is as if there is a virtual space that affects the music that lands in this space.  So I still do not have a solution.

I too had this problem with GPO5 and 2014.5.  I deleted the offending notes and reentered them and the problem went away.
