 I am unable to get Finale with Garritan instruments to play at a medium or loud volume. When I switch to midi, it changes the playback instruments.

 

Any advice?

One used to be able to use Garritan Ambience in the Banks & Effects section to boost the dry signal. If you are still using a pre-version-25 32-bit system, that ooption is still available for you.

 

If you have moved to Finale 25 (or 25.1) you can still boost the Ambience level a bit in the Aria Player Effects page, or if you have a third-party effects unit that you can apply in the Banks & Effects section, you may be able to use that to boost the VST signal.
