I'm frequently frustrated with the auto chord analysis. Beyond basic major/minor chords Finale seems unable to figure out certain chord types. For example:

Csus2 comes out as Gsus/C

F6 comes out as Dm7/F

Cadd9  comes out as Em7(#5)/C

I know how to edit the chord definition, but I would like the change reflected throughout the score. For instance, change one instance of Dm7/F to F6 in the chord definition dialog, hit OK and have every Dm7/F changed to F6 and every Dm7/F entered after that appear as F6 (when clicking above the score with the chord tool).

If Finale can do this I'm lost as to how to do it.

This is FINALE 2011 on a Win10x64 system. Any help?

You can download the current version and run the demo. Is that any better?

Thanks Mike. Someone told me about the "Learn chord" feature which seems to be what I'm looking for. I've been trying it and it seems to work for the most part but some chords still refuse to appear properly. For instance, C9 insists on appearing as C7(9). No matter how many times I tried to edit it in the "Edit Learned Chords" dialog and name it C9.
