When I click on the 'page layout tool' icon, no dialog box appears that allows changing the spacing or number of systems per page, as the manual indicates.  To reduce the number of pages, I would like to specify 3 4-part staves per page rather than the default of 3.

Have you looked in the Page Layout Menu which appears when you select the Page Layout Tool?

 

(On Windows, at least, there is no specific option for number of systems for page, although one can Edit System Margins to space systems more tightly together and can use the Staff Tool to bring staves closer together.)

 

Space Systems is a Scoring & Arranging Plug-in.

I can't find page layout tool either on page view.  Why not?

Page Layout/Space Systems Evenly.

I use it all the time.

Frank,

Are you using the full Finale? NotePad and SongWriter don't have the Page Layout Tool. Only Finale and PrintMusic (with limited options.)
