It worked just fine til last night. Suddenly today it’s not starting. I’ve re-installed it and re-started the computer, but still the same. I wonder what happened and how to fix it. I would appreciate your help. Windows 11, Finale v25

Did you uninstall before you reinstalled? There may have been damaged files that weren’t overwritten.

Might there have been a Windows update?

I would appreciate your help.

First there is a conflict somewhere. Ok let me ask, have you done any upgrades to any software which includes WIndows updates? Any anti virus installs or upgrades, etc? If you did can you undo them?

All your drivers are up to date and the most current available. Although Windows claims it does that, it does not you must do it yourself.

Try stopping the print spooler or removing your printer. You can reinstall it later if removing it allows Finale to start. You can  restart the print spooler after Finale loads, too. Next likely culprit is your sound card or driver. Bottom line something changed either by you or an update/upgrade.

MikeR has a very important point. It is best to make sure any and all Final files are gone before you do a reinstall. Again, Windows claims it has done that but it does not. You have to make sure all is gone. There are extra apps that will do it for you.

One of or more of these things will get Finale working again for you. Might be a great time to take advantage of the upgrade to 27.4. I would and recommend you do to. Finale 25 is no longer supported by MM.

I'm having the same problem. It hangs when I open it. Finale 26. There were no updates on my Windows 11 Home. It was working and suddenly did not open anymore. I have uninstalled twice now, the restart in between to see if that would fix it. It hasn't.

Are there any ideas out there on how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.
