I accept everything that you say. In principle, I am prepared to try Dorico. However, I realise that adopting new software will take time and I want to plan for this at a time when I have the time to invest in learning rather than using.

Tell me how long is the "limited time": For a limited time, users of any version of Finale or PrintMusic can purchase Dorico Pro – the highest tier of the product – for just $149 (retail price $579).

thanks in anticipation of a definitive answer,

There has been no date given; but MM have said that there is "at least enough time to try the 60-day demo".

I imagine (based on nothing at all) that it will likely be till Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the end of the year.

Greetings Finale community.
Currently I bought finale 27 in Spanish. I express my concern and extend my voice to the Latin Community that consumes licensed software, all of this does not leave a good taste in my mouth. We should have a free subscription for the new DORICO software, since it is a responsibility of the Make Music company to migrate to the new software.
