I am running an old Finale 2006b on a Windows 10 computer. When I try to export a file by executing: File->MusicXML->Export the following message pops up

I do have my installation CDs, but I do not know how to install the missing file.

In case the included image does not display correctly, the text in the pop-up reads:

Files cannot be imported or exported through MusicXML because the necessary file “MusicXML.dll” could not be found in the Component Files directory. You must reinstall the missing file from your Finale CD to use this feature

Can someone help? What is the procedure for installing the missing file?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Anna

You need the Dolet 5 or 6 plug-in that added MusicXML to Finale 2006. See below.

This page does not have any listings for Dolet for Finale earlier than version 7 for Finale 2011—2014 (type Dolet into the search box).

There were earlier versions, however. This release history shows that Dolet 5 should give what you need, possibly early versions of Dolet 6 up to 6.5 — at some point, D6 stopped supporting versions older than 2009.

What's missing from this page are download links. Maybe someone here has those files in their archives. If I had them, I would make them available. You can try contacting MM Support to see if they can give you a link or email it to you.

I recommend changing the title of your post to Need Dolet plug-in for Finale 2006 Windows (unless it's Mac but .dll is normally a Windows error)

I recommended changing the title of your original post in this thread—you can do that by editing it. This way, others will see my explanation of the issue.
