Plogue have released a new version of their Sforzando player. (Plogue are the people who made ARIA for MM/Garritan.)

The installer contains a new version of the ARIA Engine, which is used by both Sforzando and ... ARIA Player. In other words, installing Sforzando will update components used by ARIA Player.

MakeMusic should have followed the version numbering used by Plogue, but they went off-piste by numbering the Apple Silicon build of ARIA Player "version 2"; even though it was functionally identical to the Windows version, 1.959. This broke cross-platform compatibility.

Version 1.981 of the ARIA Engine fixes a number of bugs, particularly with CFX instruments. It is also forgiving about version number mis-matches, so that you can receive files from Mac users on version 2.026 (even though that's actually an older version than 1.981...!!!)

In short: if you're on a Mac or Windows, I'd recommend upgrading to the 1.981 engine, for better compatibility and bug fixes.  Updates to the ARIA Engine, via Sforzando, are probably the only updates that Garritan users will see.
