I would like (as many of us I think) to dedicate an independent Mac Sonoma to Finale...

What do you suggest to transfer all Finale settings to this new installation?

thanks

The preferences settings for the Finale program are located in two files called

com.makemusic.finale27.fprf

and

com.makemusic.Finale27.plist

Paths:

Library/Preferences/com.makemusic.finale27.fprf

and

Library/Preferences/com.makemusic.Finale27.plist

Thanks, is it enough to copy and paste those files?

and...

To transfer the {preferences settings for the Finale program}, yes, that is enough.

… to transfer the plugins? …

This sounds like a separate question - about plug-ins.

You can not transfer the plug-ins?

Please explain.

By The Way:

I suppose that you, in the new installation need to be able to do the same things, you can do in the old installation - right?

There are program specific settings, and there are document specific settings.

Consider transferring the templates - which contain document specific settings.

Document specific settings are saved in documents.

Different documents can have different document settings.

Yes.

By The Way:

Pay attention to the command

File menu > Save Preferences

which enables you save the Finale program’s Preferences anytime.

To examine the Preferences, hit the keyboard shortcut ⌘, (command-comma).

⌘, also works in other Mac programs.
