I would like to show abbreviated part names in a Clarinet part that changes from A to B-flat Clarinet and back but only for the stave in which the Clarinet changes. There is an option for not showing part names but then all the part names are gone, it doesn't seem to be possible to select only 1 stave of the part in order to hide or show it. In the attached image I would like to hide the 'Clar.(A) names and only show the B-flat Clar. name.

How should I go about?Thanks!

This sounds like a job for a Staff Style for the first measure of any system where you need the abbreviated name.

@Adrian: It's a quite laborious work-around but it works. Seems odd that this is not a standard option in Finale.
Thanks!

Instead of selecting, and applying staff style to, only the first measure of each system, it might be easier to select the entire region with B-flat Clarinet, and apply the staff style to the entire region.

In that way you will get the abbreviated staff name “Bb Cl.” where-ever one of these measures begins a staff system, even if you later change the layout, so that another measure begins a system.
