To help you organize all the lyrics Finale offers multiple “containers” for lyrics:

Verse 1, Verse 2, Verse 3, &c.

There are also Choruses: Chorus 1, Chorus 2, Chorus 3, &c.

And there are Sections: Section 1, Section 2, Section 3, &c.

There is no difference between Verses, Choruses and Sections - they are just there to help you organize all the lyrics.

Each “container” can use its own lyrics font, independent of the other “containers”.

Hence:

Do not put the lyrics and the figured bass in the same “container”.

Use e. g. Verse 1 for the lyrics, and Section 1 for the figured bass.
