I have been a long time Finale user, but stopped writing music for a number of years. I am looking to purchase from a friend a Finale 2014 edition, or maybe just upgrade to the current version. As I looked at his 2014 edition I am wanting to ask a simple question…
I am using an M-Audio Audiophile 24x96 midi card. And from there the midi goes to my Proteus 1 and Proteus 2 modules (yes, I know this is old). In Finale 2004 I know how to setup and map the interface to access these sounds, but in 2014 I am stuck as to what to do.
I can access Midi setup, and choose the Delta option (for the M-Audio audiophile card). Then I get to the menus that show sounds 1-16 and 17-32 etc. But how do I access the Proteus sounds? They are not listed. It seems like I have the info somewhere as to what these sounds are. Do I have to edit an *.INI file or something?
As we tried it on his computer I can only play the Soft synth sounds using VST out. And it does not sound very good.
So, before I buy his program (2014) or buy new, does the current version have a better way to access these sounds? Again, M-Audio Delta audiophile midi card, going to Proteus 1 and Proteus 2 modules is the setup and here is a link to the sound card interface…

Thanks.
