Mac OS 10.13.3 (High Sierra), Finale v25 (25.5.0.259)

I'm working on a score and I'd like to change from the overdrive electric guitar sound to the clean sound in the middle of the score, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it.  I'm sure the answer is simple, but I can't seem to stumble upon it.  Any help would be appreciated.

(Also, notating it is no issue.  This is just because it would be nice for my players to hear the change when I send them the example recording.)

Have you tried the utility Change Instrument?

Utilities menu > Change Instrument…

I've tried the Utilities>Change Instrument command, but that ignores the volume of the playback and wants me to change to a non-electric guitar sound (acoustic, etc).

Have you tried a custom expression that changes the MIDI channel (on the playback tab) on your VST to a channel that has the guitar sound you want? Another expression could change back tot he original MIDI channel.

I have not tried that!  Can you post a link with an explanation, or is it easier than I think?
