I'm wondering about Chord Tool behaviour in Finale 25. 

I currently have Finale 2012. When I increase the chord size (in Document - Options), the letters in a chord symbol get squished together.  The kerning or horizontal spacing is not increased as the font size is increased.  Does anyone know if this has been fixed in newer versions of Finale?

Not as far as I know. Improvements to chords have been promised for a long time.

Thanks, Mike!  But I found a solution:

1) Increase the chord symbol (root) size in Document Options -> Fonts -> Chord Symbol (set font)

2) In the Chord Tool menu, increase the suffix size using "Change Chord Suffix Fonts"

It's a bit clunky to change the chord root and suffix separately, but the result is good.

Glad you found a way, until they come through!

 

You know that you can change them all in the document Options > Fonts > Chords menu, right?

That's useful if you haven't written the chords in yet ("existing items will not be changed").  If you've already written the chords in, my workaround is needed.  At least there are options!
