I'm running the most current version of Finale 25 under Windows 10.  Some months ago, I had occasion to download a MIDI file of "Now Thank We All Our God" and transpose it downward from F Major to D-flat Major to make it more comfortable to sing.  Having accomplished this with relative ease, I then typed in the verses in the usual way.  HOWEVER--for whatever reason, Finale insisted on inserting duplicate verse numbers about halfway through the text of each verse!  My attempts to remove these unwanted verse numbers have all failed!  Can anybody help me out with this annoying problem?  Thanks in advance!

Did you start attaching the lyrics to a different voice halfway through (S vs. A)? It sounds like a very strange problem, so once you (or someone here) solves it, please report back.

I don't use the "auto-number" feature. Turning it off might solve your problem. Add the verse numbers in the lyric entry.
