When I stop a playback, edit, and start playback at the same measure - or same point - I stopped it, Finale starts playback at a much slower tempo. How to fix?

This has happened to me occasionally, but in other ways: sometimes in unexpected places the tempo changes to double-slow. I have not found any other commentary in the Finale Community regarding a way to fix it.  My method has been to start a new project and cutting and pasting the former notes into the new piece.  I don't know why this resolves the problem, but it is indeed a huge hassle to do this.

Hi:

Thank you so much for writing back. Is there a way to get help with this without sending my files?

Hi Deborah,

There is probably a better way to fix it, but for a temporary fix, the following has worked for me:

Go to Playback Settings, then from the Human Playback Style dropdown menu choose Custom..., then uncheck Automatic Expression.

Thanks Charles.

I tried that and unfortunately it did not work.

*however*

I went back and unchecked Tempo Changes and it worked perfectly!

I have not yet had time to understand these particular menu options, but in my case I have frequent meter changes, so perhaps this affected it ... ?

Thanks for your help!
