Hello there,

I'd like to know how I can make the divisi symbol (i believe it's a divisi symbol.. I mean the double-slash thing on the lower stave) using Finale. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot. -JWL

(I am using Finale 25.5 with Windows 10. The screenshot above is from Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe No.2 FYI.)

Without seeing the whole violin section (and a blurred text), it is a bit unclear, but it looks as if violins are indeed divided somewhere along the way, and the symbol seems to suggest that in this measure, the second staff is identical to the first one. The problem is that this is a symbol that can make sense in the score, but not in a part, unless the parts contains both staves...

This symbol can be created as an expression.

Oh yeah, it does seem like an indication to play notes identical to the upper stave. I'll see what I can do in the Shape Designer. Thanks for helping :D ----JWL

You can very easily create an expression (even a text expression) with 2 slashes in Maestro.

There is even a (thin) double slash in Maestro.
