Finale V25
Windows 10
Rewire host: Pro Tools 12
As a music writer and a recorder, a common problem anyone would have is that Finale is horrible for recording music precisely. I like writing in finale because speedy entry is just such a simple tool for inputting notes without having to sit and record, then quantize what I mess up (in short, I can't perform/record write in a sequencer with a keyboard consistently, Pro Tools MIDI input tools are horrible).
I can crank things and make it sound moderately good in Finale, then get it sent to Pro Tools as my sequencer, but my workflow process is slow and tedious. I have to reinsert every instrument after exporting midi files. I've been wanting a dream tool that lets me write tempo dependent tracks quickly and accurately, but lets me turn and tweak data with just turning up a different Window.
What I would like to know is, can ReWire support this idea of writing by Finale first as a midi scribe, then the MIDI data would be instantly available an editable in Pro Tools?
I've heard plenty of people use it as a tool to take sequences to notation, but I want to know if it can take notation to sequence and skip the import and export mess.
