I use Finale 2010 on a PC with windows 7.   All my work is stored in 2010 live files.

I am looking to update.  What later incarnations of Finale will open these files?

Thanks

Normally, there should be no issue with the current version of Finale opening 2010.

Finale 26 requires a 64 bit environment. If you're running Win 7 in 32 bit, this will not work. Go ahead and download the trial version to make sure. If your files open and look good, go ahead and upgrade.

The Aria player and Garritan Instruments are not included in the Trial. Once you purchase, they will be included in the new installer that you will download from inside your account.

Mike Halloran;  Thanks so much for a clear and quick response.

I might have the option of loading  Finale 2014 (a possible gift from a friend........money is tight).  Would that have the same issue regarding Win 7 and bit size?

No. Finale 2014 is 32 bit. Finale 25 and the new 26 require a 64 bit OS. Windows 7 and up can be installed either 32 or 64 bit.
