Hello!  I'm working with an 18 stave orchestral score and have assigned the individual staves to 18 midi channels in Finale to individual tracks using Aria and Kontakt 5 playback engines in Finale's score manager.  I have Finale in rewire with Logic Pro X.  I have created an auxillary track in Logic and assigned it's input to Finale RW: Mix-L/R in Logic. This creates a stereo mix of the 18 midi channels coming from Finale .  Is there a way to individually route the 18 midi channels from Finale into Logic Pro X or am I limited to the stereo mix?  I would like to route the individual channels in Finale's score manager to individual output tracks in Logic Pro X for mixing with more control.

I use Logic , but not with Rewire. But what I'm thinking is that your aux track might be set to "all channels".  I believe that's the default. Change that to whatever specific midi channel you need. With 18 midi channels in Finale you should need 18 aux tracks in Logic.

Jeffrey, I tried importing Finale midi files into Logic without using Rewire. This works but requires resetting all tracks.  As far as I know, there is not a way to set the aux track input to all channels from Finale. The only option in Logic for Finale is to Mix-L/R.  Thanks for steering me in the right direction to avoid Rewire.

What libraries are you using?

Logic supports MusicXML import. You can export your score to Logic and reassign instruments to the individual tracks. This will work with GPO 5 and 3rd party libraries but not with Garritan Instruments for Finale.
