I recently upgraded to Finale v26. I just tried transposing a part by going to the staff tool > edit > select all > Utilities > Transpose > Up a Major 6th. The music is changing, but the chord changes are not. In the version I had before I updated, I could just select Staff tool, click on the measure, and transpose the key and changes that way... How can I do this?

1) If you use the Key Signature Tool to change the key signature, then the chord symbols will get transposed with the notes.

2) If you use the Utilities menu to transpose the notes - without changing the key signature - then the chord symbols will not get transposed with the notes.

You can transpose the chord symbols separately via

Utilities menu > Change > Chords…

Peter,

Thanks, I had the same problem (using Finale v26) but didn't know about the "Utilities menu > Change > Chords... " approach to change the chords.  Would have saved me a lot of time!

To allow us to change the key signature and have the chords remain as written, maybe you could add Key Signature to the change menu ("Utilities menu > Change > Key Signature ...") with a check box to "Change Chord Symbols".  This would allow us to select a new key signature (as with the Key Signature tool) and adjust the chord symbols (or not, as appropriate) at the same time.

Just a thought...
