I'm using Finale v.25, and I have it on both my home computer and school computer.

Home computer: iMac with macOS Mojave 10.14.1

School computer: PC with Windows 10 Education

The problem happens on both computers.  I opened an old file I made back in 2007 (I think), and everything opened correctly and the instruments played back with the right sounds.  The problem is that when I start playback there's a really loud thrumming (low frequency, like an oscillating waveform).  The thrumming gradually gets quieter as the piece plays, but when lots of instruments come in it gets louder again.

Even if I mute all the tracks the thrumming is still there, so it doesn't appear to be a problem with the instruments.  I've tried changing from "Play through MIDI" to "Play through VST" and making sure my MIDI and audio settings are good.  At first I thought it was a problem with buffering, so I turned the latency up until it was at maximum, and it didn't change anything.  Both the computers are pretty fast too, so I can't imagine that's the problem.
