By your words “part name” you probably mean the staff name, not the name of the linked part, right?

Unfortunately I am unable to duplicate your problem.

For me the utility Change Instrument does automatically the staff name of the selected region.

Take a look at the Staff Attributes.

In the pane Items to Display, is the item “Staff Name in Score” selected or de-selected?

Is the item “Staff Name in Parts” selected or de-selected?

I tried to change instruments in another part of the same score and there it works: the Staff Name changes automatically with an instrument change. For some reason however it doesn't work in this particular part.

Change the name in the second column of the Score Manager?
