I"m using Finale PrintMusic 2014.  I have windows 2007. 

I'm creating a lead sheet in the key of A major.

When I input chords on the staff, they sound correct in playback.  I put chord symbols over the chords (for guitar).  In playback the chord symbols sound wrong and they clash with the chords on the staff.  According to the key signature, everything should sound right together.  Why doesn't it?

Possibly because the chords are pretty poorly voiced. That's why many of us enter the chords on the staff, as you did.
