I have an app called The Piano on my apple phone. I am wondering how to connect this app to my computer so I can play the keyboard on the phone and have the music I play transferred into Finale Print Music. Should this work? I know I would have to use the HyperScribe tool in Finale to do this, but I don't know if I need an actual electric keyboard, or if I can use the I-phone. I tried playing the piano on the I-phone and connected the two devices with a USB cord, but it didn't work. Also, is there a different app on the I-phone that would work? Or, should I connect the I-phone to the computer in a different way?

Thank you!

There is nothing in the App description or developer web site to indicate that The Piano could be used as a keyboard controller, virtual or otherwise, for your Mac or PC. I see no mention of MIDI.

I recommend finding the iPad Musician page on Facebook. Once you get past all the weeping and wailing over the loss of headphone jack, there is useful information to be found and knowledgable people to ask.

You're looking for a virtual keyboard MIDI controller for your iPhone that lets you control your computer. Once you have that, setting it up in Finale is easy.
