When you say "uneven measure lengths," do you mean that each instrument is playing in a different time signature that doesn't line up? Or, that each "measure" there is a "time signature change" that is not displayed? Can you post an example of what you want to accomplish?

I think Matthew means that successive measures are in different time signatures and that implementing a new time signature every measure or two is tedious.

Matthew, if you know what the pattern is in advance, you could try copying various measure stacks into appropriate measure locations, which might save a few clicks each time..AFAIK Finale does not have a way to add barlines individually at random intervals into the music.

Finale does require you to dictate a time signature for each measure. You would need to alter it when it changes.

If you know the layout of the piece before entering it into FInale, then you can copy & paste new measures to follow your layout.

For example, (these are all blank measures with nothing except a time signature) set 4/4 for measure 1, change measure 2 to 3/4, now copy & paste measure 1 into measure 3.  Measure 3 now is 4/4. Copy measure 2 to measure 4, now measure 4 is 3/4.

This is much faster than changing each measure manually.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, it is different lengths of measures in sequence that I have in mind. I suspected that the answer I wanted wasn't available, but thought it worth asking. As you see from the following, it is free flowing modal music from the Tudor period, probably before today's rules were fully codified. Yes, I could either change the time signature with each modification or, as you say, do some copying and pasting, either way suppressing the time signature at each change.  In any case it might be that I do need to put in the time signatures with each change, however messy it will look and however intrusive it will be to the flow, for the benefit of some of the players who are not used to this sort of elasticity

Thanks for posting this image. FWIW, I would not include the time signatures. I do think meters would disrupt the flow of the music. It's very easy to read in this format.
