Windows 10 - Finale 26 FR

Hello ! I'm not sure if here's the right place to submit translation discrepancies, but I don't know any other place... Let me know if there's a better way !

The error I spotted is in the Measure Number dialog box (Measure > Edit Measure Number Regions), where the user can choose to show measure numbers on the top staff, the bottom staff, or both.

The yellow text basically means "Top of the staff" and "Bottom of the staff" which is different from the original version : "Top staff" and "Bottom staff". Do you see how the user could get confused by this tiny difference ?

I would suggest also pointing this out on the Feature Request portion of this forum and probably using the "Submit a request" link at the top of this page. I'm sure MM would want to correct this if you can get their attention.

Hi Maxime,

Thanks for bringing this discrepancy to our attention. Since our partners at IPE manage the translation of the French language version, they will definitely want to hear about this. If you see issues like this please feel free to reach out to them directly so that they can get this information quickly. You can find their contact info on our international dealer information page linked below.

Maxime, your remark is absolutely correct. Bad translation. It should read : Portée du haut, portée du bas.

Are you aware that there is a very active and well documented independent forum in French ?

https://finale-logiciel-aide-gravure-musicale.eu

I would suggest that you register and post your pertinent remark there, too.

But IPEMusic (in France) is responsible for the bad translation : http://www.prodipe.com/support/

P.S.  this bad translation was already present at least in Finale 2012 (Win) and has never been fixed. It is specific to the Windows version. The Mac version has a correct translation in this particular case.

As you can see, on top of everything, French translations vary between Win and Mac versions !
