I am trying to write a piece of music with Finale to input into NSM. I need part of the band to snap and then clap (I would be happy with just snaps or claps) for a section of the song. Then they need to go back to the traditional sound. HOW DO I DO THIS??? I've looked in every section of the user manual, asked everywhere, tried everything I can think of, and nothing works. I need all the instruments to be making the snap and NOT their individual note.

I did get the note heads changed to an "x" instead of the note head, but that doesn't change the sound.

Can anyone help???

Staff Styles and the Resize (%) Tool can help here. Also use Manage Parts to add the Clap line to each part you want to join in.

Another way to get rid of the Left Barline:

 

In the {Clap Line} Staff, move the barlines vertically down into the the staff below.

This is done in the dialog box Staff Setup.

I saw those boxes but didn't know whether entering numbers would help.
