I have an old Mac (OS 10.5.8) and an old version of Finale that I've consistently used for years. (Finale 2008b.r1)

Recently I had major problems & had the Mac repaired, now Finale needs re-authorizing. Since it's so old, I can't do it on the phone, and when I try to do it online I get "You have used your maximum number of allowed authorizations." etc. This older Mac has problems with the internet & I don't even think if this method would work anyways. I tried to also use the "print" authorization procedure, but I need an authorization code, and my previous code will not work. This happened one time before, but I was able to get Tech Support to help me, now of course my system is too old. Is there anything I can do to get Finale up and running?

If you still have this problem, the fix is easy. Log into your users account, click on Manage,Authorizations and delete what’s there.

I remember the old days when I’d move the hard drive in my G5 to a new location without de-authorizing Finale first. I’d have to put the HDD back into its original slot, de-authorize, then move, replace or whatever....

This way is better.

MIKE HALLORAN:

Out of desperation, I called Tech & they told me that this was the one thing they COULD do for me. So I am now up and running! Thanks for the response.
