I am trying to upgrade from Finale 2014.5 to the current version. I am able to add the software to my cart but I get the following message when I try to check out:
Check Out
Your payment by credit card serves as parental consent for a purchase by a minor.
NOTICE TO PARENTS: Use of MakeMusic products will include activities that involve the collection or use of personal information, including a name, email, and other contact and personal information, such as audio recordings, type of instrument played, etc. However, minors may not purchase a MakeMusic product without “verifiable parental consent,” and we will not collect, use or disclose any personal information from a child until the child’s parent or guardian receives notice of and consents to our information practices. Under the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act, your submission of credit card information to make a purchase of a MakeMusic product in conjunction with your enrollment of your child as a subscriber is considered to be your verifiable consent. Therefore, please review our
Privacy Practices and Frequently Asked Questions About Children’s Privacy carefully before completing this transaction.
No matter what I do, I can't get past this screen.
Furthermore, when I call the Makemusic sales number, I get a pre-recorded message that Finale support is exclusively available on the website and there does not appear to be a way to connect to a human.
Does anybody know if Makemusic is still in business since all attempts to purchase anything or contact them have failed.
