At the very beginning of the song I define some tempo (200BPM), and after a dozen or so notes the playback slows down to the standard 120BPM. I hope that my description of the problem is understandable.
I am using Finale 2014 and Windows 10
Did you import the file or create it from scratch?
If you imported it, you may want to Select All and Clear Selected Data > MIDI data.
When you set the tempo at 200 bpm (are they quarter-note beats or some other note value?) how did you do it? Tempo expressions override the tempo set in the playback box at the top of the screen, and MIDI tempo overrides both of those.
