Ok, maybe I'm nuts but I updated Finale and I can't move staves the way I used to.

I have a bunch of staves that I want to move / respace the distance between them.  I select the staff tool, click on the handles for the staves I want to move, and when I moved one, all the other selected ones would move as well the same distance so they're always equidistant to each other.  It made resizing systems very easy.  I updated today and now it no longer works like that.  I select multiple handles and now when I grab the handle for the topmost selected staff, the other staves don't move / respace equidistant, they just move in parallel with the top staff.

Can anyone confirm?

Windows 7  Finale 26.1.0.397

Thanks,

Frank

What older Finale version were you using before updating to Finale v26?

The way Finale v26 works (= “they just move in parallel with the top staff”) is the way Finale has been working for many versions.

To space selected staves evenly, use

Staff menu > Respace Staves…

You know what, disregard this whole message.  I'm an idiot. You're right - I did something different this time than I normally do and I didn't realize.  I usually do leadsheets and I need to move the staves, and the leadsheets are a single staff.  So when you highlight them and move them, they all move equidistant because it's like moving a system even though it's a single staff.

It's been a long time since I had to move a bunch of staves in a group and it just hit me.  I'm an idiot...forget about this post!  You're right - moving groups of staves is still the same!  Sorry!
