Audio doesn't work with other programs when Finale is running. I'm running Windows 10. The problem did not exist with Finale 2012, but since going to v26, I've been having issues.
Audio works for me too, but you should check your sound card driver. Some allow individual programs to grab exclusive control of the sound card. (I had this problem when I first installed Dorico and used its driver.) If so, you need to uncheck this option to be able to hear Finale while other programs (or their audio drivers) are operating.
Hi Doug,
You may want to check the settings for your computer's audio hardware on the Windows Sound Control Panel. You can find more details on how to do this at the link below.

I know on my Mac I had trouble with Finale and other audio programs running at the same time, because Finale wanted to be in 44.1 16 bit, and had not other option, and my DAW (Digital Performer) is almost always in 48/24. So, there would be a conflict. I have noticed this is no longer a problem in v26 (I think!). I think it was still a problem in v25. The only solution was to change my DAW to 44.1, but of course that wouldn't work if I had a file with audio already in 48. So, you may be having a conflict with sample rate times.
