I have created a triplet of eight notes using the tuplet tool. Now I would like to add more eight notes to the measure without them beaming to the triplet. But every time I add an eighth note, it gets beamed to the triplet. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

 

Finale 25 on windows 10.

Beaming is a function of the time signature. If you don’t want any eighths beamed, set it to 8/8 or whatever you might need. If it’s only this one, let it beam.Then, select the last eighth, and tap the / key to break the beam.

This did exactly what I wanted. Thank you. My response was delayed a bit as my PC died and it took me a few days to get back to this.
