I'm running Finale 2014 on Windows 10 and I need to adjust the stem length of notes manually for a section. I've done this before but I can't get the Special Tool Palette to show up. I've tried checking them on the drop down "Window' tab and various other methods.

Problem solved. For some reason the floating windows were being generated 'off screen' to the right. Does anyone know how to change settings so that Finale won't allow them to do so in the future.

I do not think that Finale has a setting, so that Finale won't allow floating windows being generated ‘off screen’.

The culprit could be a change in screen resolution.

However, the usual fix (in case it happens again) is to Reset the Preferences.
