Hi, I've seen variations on this question asked about copying notes to another voice in a staff, but my question is a little different.  I already have a single staff with two voices, V1 and V2, and I want to be able to merge them into a single voice (e.g., single notes or chords in V2 merged with single notes or chords in V1).  For the most part, the rhythms of each voice are the same.  Assuming this is possible, I would hope that the software is smart enough to know when the voices can be merged (per the rhythms) and when they cannot.  But if I have to merge them in sequences of measures, I can live with that, for now.

Does anyone know if this possible?

You may want to experiment with the plug-in (to be installed) JW Staff Polyphony. Two steps may be necessary.

1) Send voices to layers

2) Merge layers (hopefully you have empty layers)

It won't probably work everywhere, but it is worth a try, by region.
