Mac: OS Sierra. Finale 25.5

In several spots in a new score I change the time from 7/8 to 4/4, but although the music notation switches to 4/4, there is no display of the new time signature. When I go to the Measure Tool and ask it to "Always Show Time Signature" in that measure, it comes up 7/8 (the old time signature) instead of 4/4.
