I need to import finale files from 2.6.2 and 3.0 to
Finale 2016, for Mac OS Sierra
Those documents are created in very old Finale versions.
As a first step, give the Finale documents the file name extension .musx - and that step may be all you need to do!
Finale will open each document as an untitled document you can save, with a file name, in a folder.
The original, old document will not be affected.
However, even if you can open the older documents in the newer Finale version, you may experience that not all layout elements transform well into the newer Finale version.
Some users have reported better results by first opening/converting/saving the old document into an “in between” Finale version, like e. g. Finale 2008.
Unfortunately, I tried every pass that Adrian and Peter that they suggested. I mean,
I gave to the old files the name extensions .mus and .musx, after I tried to open them in
Finale 2007 and Finale 2016.
But I did'nt get it...
All the times I tried, Finale tell me "a -12 error ocurrie". What does mean that?.
Have you another idea???
Thanks a lot to Adrian and Peter!!!.
