This is an FYI thing - it won't affect many people but...... I'm on an iMac Catalina 10.15.2. After installing Finale 26.2, going into the program somehow caused my waves audio plugins to come up for rescanning and authorization, which would usually only happen when I start a DAW (digital audio workstation) like Logic or Pro Tools. And I did not have those programs open.

All my waves plugins are authorized on another computer, so I had to click 'Skip' 6000 times (it felt like...) and go through ALL the plugins. THEN, Finale finally showed up. Finale then showed a Bundle Error, saying it could not bundle with Multimedia and some other things which are AGAIN audio plugins.

FINALLY, I was able to authorize Finale and it seems like things are ok now. I can go in and out of the program smoothly without it bringing up audio plugins. It seems this happens only during the initial Authorization Phase. Also, just to be clear, the INSTALL went fine with no issues. It was the next authorization phase in which things got messed up.

Like I said, this might not affect many people but boy was it a pain and an inconvenience. Hopefully FINALE MUSIC can fix this to prevent it from happening.

Thanks,

Frank Bright

This is normal behavior. SInce Finale is capable of using plugins, it scans for authorizations the first time the program loads after seeing a new plugin. Sibelius and Logic also perform scans in the same circumstance.

I have removed the very few Waves plugs from my system because of their ridiculous license management scheme — worse than Steinberg’s. As Mr. Turner reports, it’s not a Finale issue. I went through it with Logic, Digital Performer, Encore and Dorico. Only by jettisoning Waves was I able to avoid it with Finale.

None of their plug-ins are important to me.
