Initial tempo quarter = 56 defined with 'Intro' expression.  Tempo marking of quarter = 96 defined at tempo marking in measure 4.  System wants to play quarter = 125 continuously, overriding text-expression definitions.

No issues with Instrument Panel
Clearing MIDI data does not work
File is descended from Finale 2014.5 file.

The file in question is at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Lc0ebYN7gqFBFAxF7EPDo5JPbuu68oKd

I need a playback .mp3 with proper tempi.  I can make the .mp3 with no problem.  It's the tempi I'm worried over right now.

Thanks, all!

Jeffrey Ragsdale,

Are you sure that you uploaded the right Finale document to Google Drive?

The file name is ‘Finding (Chip Hill) Toy Soldier - Dec 2019 edition - FINAL’.

I have downloaded and examined the Finale document, but to me there is not consistency between your description and the Finale document:

1) … System wants to play quarter = 125 continuously, overriding text-expression definitions …

For me, the Finale document plays Quarter = 96.

I several times closed the document, and opened it again.

It never plays Quarter = 125 ; always Quarter = 96.

2) … Initial tempo quarter = 56 defined with 'Intro' expression …

The expression ‘Intro’ is not defined with playback effect.

On The Other Hand, the expression ‘freely - like speech, but sung’ is defined with playback effect tempo, Quarter = 96 (not 56).

I changed the playback tempo definition for ‘freely - like speech, but sung’ from 96 to 56 - and it worked.
