Finale 26.2, Mac 10.15.3, Noteperformer 3.3.1

I have been working on a score for the past few months and I am getting to the final few days of work. I have not had any issues with playback thus far, but all of a sudden, Finale will either crash as soon as I press play, or if it does play immediately, will crash as soon as I wish to pause or stop playback. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am unsure as to what would have caused playback issues so abruptly. I know that the file size is large and the pagination matches, but I don't think that would have anything to do with it. I have worked on scores with larger sizes in the past with success! This particular file is 6, perhaps 7 months old, and again, no issues until today. I have removed and reinstalled both Finale and Noteperformer and that was no help. I opened other large files and no issues with playback. When this issue seemed to be only affecting one single file, I created a new file and copied the music from the old to the new. Still, playback intermittently crashes either immediately or upon using the pause/stop function. Help?
