Hello, everyone,

I'm afraid this isn't specifically a Finale question, so I hope I'm not violating any rules. But I have completed a symphony orchestra score, using an 11 x 17 page format. I have managed to get it printed out, but now I'm having trouble figuring out how to get it bound. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

This is what I need to know:

  • I cannot use comb or spiral binding. So what can I use?
  • Where how to get the best stock for the front and back covers? I'd like to get something in black or navy blue, but I have no idea where to look.
  • Can anyone recommend a good company that provides this kind of service?

Help, anyone?

P.S. I did find a healthy discussion (finally) in this forum: https://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=68897 I don't know why that did not turn up in my search within the forum (I managed to find it via an external search. Go figure.)

But I would still welcome any additional advice anyone out there might have.

Why not? If it's a one-off, FedEx/Kinkos will do spiral or comb for you. Go to their web site, specify the format, paper, covers, binding etc., upload the .pdf file(s) and pay online. Either pick it up from a local office or have it delivered. If it's going to be thick, have each movement bound separately.

I don't use them anymore but only because I found a local full service print shop that does everything at a more attractive price. Still, I do it all online and pick up the results when done or have them shipped.
